Spurtles
Spurtle - $10
A spurtle, in case you don’t know, is a
Scottish kitchen tool used to stir
porridge & other foods.
I know what you’re thinking: That’s just a
stick. Why would I pay 10 bucks for a
stick? Here's why: My spurtles are made
from hard maple & oak sticks, debarked,
dried, sanded smooth then finished
with pure food grade tung oil or
polymerized linseed oil. Each one has a
knobby end for good grip. And these
are no whimpy spurtles. They're good
for heavy mixing when those cheapo
wooden spoons just won’t do.
Sure, you can go traipsing through the
bug infested forest & chop down a giant
tree just to get that perfect spurtle stick
way at the top. Then spend hours
sanding & finishing. Or, for less than the
price of a triple mochacchino latte with
oat milk, caramel syrup, cinnamon &
foam from your favorite coffee bar, you
can choose a spurtle from my carefully
curated selection that perfectly matches
the unique shape of your hand.
And remember, a guest may turn up to
your next dinner party driving the same
car as you & wearing a designer outfit
identical to yours but you can feel
secure in the knowledge that your
spurtle is truly unique.
